trade guidelines and b&p rules
B&P is known as blanks and postage. i will make a copy of any show for you, but you must send me the blank cd’s (hence blanks), and the return postage and envelope (hence postage).
you will need two envelopes in a B&P. the first is your return envelope. a good size for the return envelope is 7.25 by 11. this envelope will be addressed to you. it has to be a bubble mailer (an envelope with a bubble lining to protect the contents). do NOT use fiber mailers, as i will not burn cd’s which are delivered in a fiber mailer, because the fiber material may damage the cd burner. put your blanks in this envelope.
the second envelope will contain your return envelope. a good size for an outer envelope is 8.5 by 11. this will be addressed to me, and i will give you my address when you ask for the B&P.
for shipping, most people prefer first class or priority postage. it will take about 3-5 days to get to me. when the proper postage is on both envelopes, place your return envelope unsealed inside the outer envelope, and send it.
DO NOT USE METERED POSTAGE. i can’t say that enough. stamps only for return packages, as metered postage is only good for the day that the post office prints it up.
PACKAGES SENT IN FIBER MAILERS WILL BE SENT BACK UNBURNED! RETURN PACKAGES WITH METERED POSTAGE WILL BE KEPT! PACKAGES WITH INADEQUATE RETURN POSTAGE WILL BE KEPT! PACKAGES SENT POSTAGE ON DELIVERY WILL BE REFUSED!
trade guidelines
these are *not* set in stone. if something else works better for you, let me know.
- we send at the same time. i dont send first and wait for you, nor will i expect you to send first.
- be honest. don’t tell me that you’ll send on monday if you aren’t planning on sending until thursday.
- do not send MP3 sourced shows. converting entire shows into MP3 format is the work of the devil. i have no use for them. i don’t want them, plain and simple.
- disk at once. no gaps. period. unless you specify ahead of time or i tell you that its okay, TAO is *unacceptable.* if you don’t know what i’m talking about, just ask. i’m more than happy to explain any of this crap.
- right now, i use only verbatims. i expect the same quality (or better, obviously) in return. let me know ahead of time if you use generics and cheapies.
- postage–generally speaking, first class postage is fine. i used to use priority, but it’s really not any faster and it’s a hell of a lot more expensive.
- jewel cases–your call. i usually send shows in sleeves because their cheap. if you want cases, though, the ones i send usually have a “schnucks Video Game” sticker on them. (read: stolen goods)
- cover art–not sent.
- source info. if you have it, send it. if not, no big deal.
I don’t think that this is asking for much. it’s a pretty easy system, but if you have a problem with any of it, let me know, we can work around it. all you have to do is ask.
